You might once plan to go somewhere wild and pristine, no footprint of humans or peaceful lands. In this time, Idealtravelasia would like to introduce you an attractive journey that explorers might love to come immediately!
Day 1: First day arrival in Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam (D)
On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met and transferred to hotel. Ha Noi, Vietnam’s capital, is one thousand year old city with peaceful lakes, French styled buildings, old quarter streets, three lined boulevards, brightly painted temples and pagodas. Enjoy a short cyclos ride around the old quarter streets. O/N in Ha Noi.
Day 2: A free day roaming in Hanoi city (B/L/D)
Today we enjoy a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex. This famous site contains the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this complex is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city.
We follow this with the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam and the impressive Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. The beautiful West Lake and the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history are also highlight of our trip.
We visit these sights before continuing to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem. In front of this lake is the famous water puppet theatre where we will see a fantastic performance. Overnight in Ha Noi.
Day 3: From Hanoi to Mai Chau. Trekking to Sai and Hang villages (Pu Luong Nature Reserve) (B/L/D)
We will leave Hanoi for Hoa Binh province and up then to Mai Chau valley. This scenic drive takes around four hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. Upon arriving in Mai Chau valley, we take a short walk around Lac & Poom Coong villages to have the first experience of the White Thai community local life and their culture. Lunch will be served at local home.
We will then leave Mai Chau for a short ride along the Ma river (22km) to Sai village. Off the car, we begin our trek to Duom and Hang villages. We will trek through outstanding mountain scenery and pituresque rice paddies, see hand-crafted bamboo water wheels, and talk with the lovely local people. Spend the night in a local Thai family’s traditional home on stilts.
Day 4: Continue trekking Pu Luong Nature Reserve (Hang village – Eo Ken – Kho Muong villages) (B/L/D)
After having breakfast with our new Thai friends, we will be walking for a approximately 5 to 6 hours. The first section is hard with some steep climbs and stream crossings. The second stage is glorious with beautiful views of the valley, rice terraces, rich rain forests, and meandering streams. Your picnic lunch will be provided on the way at Eo Ken village.
Arrival in Kho Muong village is always special as the setting of the village is perhaps the most beautiful in Vietnam, nestled between steep karst mountains with rice terraces in the afternoon sun. Spend our second night nearby in a typical Thai eco – stilt home in Kho Muong village.
