DAY 1: HANOI – MAI CHAU – HANG KIA VILLAGE(L/D)
We leave Hanoi heading west to Hoa Binh Province. We climb towards the Mai Chau valley another two hours away stopping to take in the spectacular scenery.
Following lunch in Mai Chau town we drive to the White Thai village of Sa Linh where we start a 2-hour trek to the village of Hang Kia. Our hosts this evening will be the H’mong people. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we learn a little about their way of life.
Tonight’s accommodation will be basic although mattresses, bedding and mosquito nets are provided.

DAY 2: HANG KIA – VAN VILLAGE(B/L/D)
This morning we have a 4-5 hour trek to Van Village home of the White Thai people. The trek takes us through unforgettable scenery and provides us with an opportunity to witness rural life . Arriving in Van village by mid to late afternoon there will be time to take a stroll down to the nearby stream. Our hosts for this evening will treat us to a fine meal and stories of life in Van village. They will also share their home brewed rice wine and toast our good health and happiness.

DAY 3: VAN VILLAGE – XO VILLAGE(B/L/D)
We spend the morning strolling around the surrounding villages.
We then return to Van for lunch. With lunch finished there will time for a short siesta or stroll down to the river before embarking on a 3hour walk to the village of Xo (pronounced Soh).
Following dinner we have the chance for more cultural interaction before retiring for our second night in a stilt house.\

DAY 1 : HA NOI – THAI NGUYEN – BA BE NATIONAL PARK (240KMS/7 HOURS) (L,D)
Pick up at the hotel . As you head out of Ha Noi, over the Red River on the Chuong Duong bridge, the suburbs quickly give way to the sprawling farm lands of the Red River Delta. Travel north along Hwy 3 to Thai Nguyen for a stop to enjoy a lunch of traditional Vietnamese food. Worth a visit here is the Museum of the Cultures of Viet Nam Ethnic Groups. Leaving the delta behind, you’ll start climbing into the mountainous area of Ba Be National Park.
Take a short boat trip (30 minutes) to a Tay village for dinner and homestay in a local house.
Ba Be lake and national park is a place with some of the most wonderful sceneries in Vietnam.
DAY 2 : BA BE CAO BANG (120KMS/4 HOURS) (B,L,D)
Ba Be National Park, surrounded by rugged limestone mountains it is Viet Nams only natural mountain lake. This important eco-system is best known for its over 330 species of butterflies! Have breakfast with your Tay hosts. The lush forest clinging to the surrounding mountains is your backdrop as you explore the lake. Reach the end of the lake and stop for a trek to Dau Dang waterfall. Meet your Jeep, head north through the lush mountain passes to the city of Cao Bang. Overnight in Hotel.
DAY 3 : BAN GIOC WATERFALL (85KMS/2.5 HOURS) (B,L,D)
Jeep ride to Ban Gioc, visit the waterfall On this day you’ll take a scenic in insightful day trip north of Cao Bang to the beautiful Ban Gioc waterfall on the Chinese border. This picturesque, cascading waterfall is 53 meters high and has an impressive span of 300 meters. The drive there offers unique landscapes, limestone karst formations soar from the verdant rice paddies of the surrounding farms of local ethnic minorities. Along the way, you’ll see Tay, Hmong and Dzao ethnic minority groups. Heading back to Cao Bang, stop to explore the expansive 2,144 meter Nguom Ngao Cavern to discover its brilliant stalactites.
Return to Cao Bang and overnight in Hotel.

Overnight at ethnic village, namely PacNgoi, where visitors can get to know about Tay People. Enjoy daily meals of ethnic minorities.
DAY 3: TREKKING FROM BA BE TO TAY’S VILLAGES (B, L,D)
7-hour hard trekking to visit Tay’s village accompanied by local guide. Take away lunch will be arranged. It takes 5-hour walk to the village – spend time with ethnic people.

DAY 4: TREKKING BACK TO BA BE LAKE – LEAVE FOR VULINH VILLAGE (B, L, D)

Have short boat trip in Thacba lake , a hydro-electric reservoir in YenBai. Then depart to Ha Giang town in 4 hour. Stop for short trekking to visit the Me village near by HaGiang town. Discover the home of Tay people and their culture. Overnight in Ha Giang hotel.

DAY 6: HA GIANG – DONG VAN (B, L ) THERE IS A SUNDAY MARKET.

Turn back to Ha Giang from Dong Van. Continually to discover some cheerful and colourful ethnic Markets on the way. Lunch at Yen Ninh town. Visit Hmong villages and Trang village near ThanhHa Resort and continue to QuangBinh. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 8: QUANGBINH – BAC HA (B, L )
Afterbreakfast at hotel. You have short visit around QuangBinh area, a chance to meet Pathen minority people. Then leave for BacHa This day is a hard travelling by car but there will be beautiful scenery on route.

Leaving Bacha to visit CanCau Market an outstanding feature of ethnic people in the North. Or visit BacHa market which is organized weekly only in Sunday. 2 hour trekking to discover villages of ethnic minorities (SanDiu, HaNhi, Xa …) that remain natural and unspoiled by tourists. Buying souvenir from ethnic people. Short walk to discover some surrounding villages (4-6 hours) with local guide.

Be utterly amazed by the scenery at Pha Din pass. Afternoon in Dien Bien Phu - the last base of the French power in Indochina. Here we will visit monuments, the museum, war relics and the preserved bunkers all telling the story of the final and victorious liberating battle of 1954. Dinner and free time to explore the night-life in this remote mountain city.

DAY 4 : MU CANG CHAI – THAN UYEN - SAPA (B, L, D)
From Mu Cang Chai town, taking tours to visit villages of Muong Khoa, Muong Kim and Na Kim where you can see very colorful minority groups .car take cross Tram Ton Pass where you can enjoy freshest and cool air and nice landscapes.
You take one of the most spectacular roads in northern Vietnam to get to Sapa.
Arrive at the station in the French colonial style in Sa Pa at nightfall.

DAY 5 : SA PA - LAO CHAI - TA VAN (B, L, D) 04 hours trekking, 12 km, 03 villages
After breakfast, stroll around Sapa. Then, get in the car and head towards the village of Lao Chai San - a village of Black H'mong.
Cross the river using the suspension bridge to reach the village of Lao Chai. Short hike to the village of Ta Van - village Dzays.
Have dinner with the host and spend a night with the locals.
